WHB Teams with
Consultant to Open Stores in Hospitals and Cancer Centers
October 18, 2004,
Houston — Women’s
Health Boutique has enlisted the expertise of former cancer
researcher Linda Secher, owner of Appearance Center Consultants,
to expand operations into hospitals and cancer centers throughout
the country.
Secher was the first to develop a comprehensive
hospital-based appearance center, giving women with cancer
cosmetic and prosthetic options since the mid-1980s. She opened
17 centers, including City of Hope in Duarte, California,
John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California, and
Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas, Texas.
She has also been affiliated with the American Cancer Society's
Look Good, Feel Better program since its inception.
“Linda Secher is well-respected in our
industry,” says WHB president and CEO Daina Pitzenberger.
“From design management to store opening, her efforts
provide cancer patients easy access to products and services
they need to enhance their lives while receiving treatment.”
“I’m
ecstatic about the opportunity to present Women’s Health
Boutique to hospitals and cancer centers,” says Secher.
“There is no franchise that offers the services WHB
does.”
In addition to customized prostheses, clothing and wigs for
cancer patients, Women’s Health Boutique offers incontinence
products, compression garments, pre and post-natal items and
luxurious fashion lingerie.
“Linda’s knowledge of the hospital
industry is a tremendous asset to our franchise,” says
Pitzenberger. “She is going to take our system to a
new level while providing patients a convenient and caring
place to shop.”
