Women’s
Health Boutique Offers Private Label Prosthesis
Cypress, Texas – Women’s Health
Boutique celebrates the introduction of their private label
prosthesis, “Silicone Lite,” a moldable, natural-looking
non-custom prosthesis.
It is made from lightweight, air-whipped silicone
and was designed by WHB founder Vicki Jones, owner of Women’s Health Boutique in Longview,
Texas. With a degree in Art and Sculpture and 15 years experience
fitting mastectomy patients, Vicki was dissatisfied with the
prostheses she found in the marketplace. Eighty percent of
Jones’ mastectomy customers could not change bras and
wear the same prosthesis.
“My goal was to develop one to change
shape like the breast does,” she says. “My customers
need one that is soft enough to mold itself to any bra –
and be affordable.”
Jones persistently appealed to one of her vendors,
offering her ideas for a better product. The manufacturer
eventually gave her access to their design team, and Silicone
Lite was the result.
“Vicki Jones designed a superior product,”
says WHB president Daina Pitzenberger. “And because
we are buying such a large volume, the price is extremely
reasonable – the competition can't even come close.”
Silicone Lite sales were brisk in the Longview
location upon introduction in November. “Comparing the
fit of prostheses from eight different manufacturers, 72 percent
of women were best fit with Silcone Lite,” says Jones.
This exclusive prosthesis can only be obtained
at Women’s Health Boutique. For customers purchasing
Silicone Lite, WHB accepts assignment on Medicare, private
insurance and select managed care plans.
“Most customers are loyal to their own stores,”
says Jones. “But I believe this prosthesis will actually
draw customers into our boutique.”
